Wailea Beaches: Maui’s Most Luxurious Coastal Experience

Wailea offers a different kind of beach experience.

This stretch of South Maui coastline is known for its golden sand, clear water, and easy access to some of the island’s most well-kept oceanfront resorts. But beyond the polished feel, Wailea delivers some of the most consistently swimmable and enjoyable beaches on Maui.

Everything here feels intentional.

Well-maintained paths.
Easy access.
Beautiful views at every turn.

And connecting it all is the Wailea Beach Path—a scenic coastal walk that links each beach together, making it easy to explore multiple spots in a single outing.

What Makes Wailea Beaches Unique

Wailea beaches are known for:

  • Consistently calm, swimmable conditions (especially mornings)
  • Clear water and accessible snorkeling
  • Well-maintained access points and amenities
  • Connection via the Wailea Beach Path
  • A more refined, resort-style atmosphere

It’s one of the easiest places on Maui to spend a full day at the beach without needing to move your car.

Mokapu Beach offers a great mix of open sand and calm water, with easy access from nearby resorts and the Wailea Beach Path. It’s a versatile beach that works well for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing by the water.

Because access is primarily from the resort, it tends to feel a bit more open and less crowded than some of the neighboring beaches.  But you can also access it from the Ulua parking lot by walking to the right instead of heading left to Ulua.
